In India, there is a huge craze for the Services Selection Board (SSB), which is an exam for interviewing the personality and intelligence. The SSB exam is carried out for 5 consecutive days. In this exam, a scientific analysis for testing the potential of a candidate is carried out for getting admission into the commission level of Armed Forces of India. Both civilians and serving personnel can enter as a commission in various different procedures. However, irrespective of the mode of exam attempted, SSB is the compulsory step for everyone.

No Limitation on Attempts:

The Service Selection Board is one of the most crucial steps for exam that everyone has to clear. However, Medical Corps would not have to sit for this exam. Candidates in both the levels can sit for the exam countless number of times. Since this is quite a tough procedure of interview, getting successful in this examination is really a tough job. However, even if a candidate fails in the first attempt it is advisable for the candidates to prepare well and reappear for the interview for a second time.

Nature of the Interview:

The nature of the interview in SSB exam is slightly varied. The candidate mainly has to display his psychological skill, so that his ability and potential as a future Officer in Indian Armed Forces can be determined. This is the reason why the interview is carried out so carefully under stringent norms to select the best candidate for nurturing them as future officers of the highest credibility.

Qualities Considered for Selection Procedure:

Some of the most important qualities considered for the procedure for selection in SSB exam include the ability to judge under the situation of stress, the potential for organization and reasoning, the skills of communication, courage, determination, ability of making decisions, self-confidence, intelligence, strong determination, compassion, as well as the willingness to make an example for others and many more.

The Procedure for Selecting the Candidates:

The candidates have to qualify in the written exam carried out by the Union Public Service Commission or in the Board for preliminary interview. Candidates who have been shortlisted directly through different call letters can appear for SSB exam. This is applicable not only in the case of civilians, but also for the other serving candidates already engaged in the Armed forces.

Exams in Different Days:

After the day of reporting, the first day is the day of screening tests, the second is the day of psychology tests, the third and the fourth are the days of GTO tasks, while the fifth day is for conference.

Few Things to Be Noted in Relation to the Exam:

The candidates who appear for the first time are offered messing and accommodation free during the course of the entire stay while appearing the selection procedure. The candidates might also have to go to different places and military medical establishments in order to appear for the medical tests.

Thus, it can be seen that the SSB exam is a slightly different kind of interview procedure compared to any other kind of exam. Therefore, in order to appear successfully in the exam, it is essential to prepare well for the exam few months in advance.
