Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) has been designed by the National Council for Teacher Education and Department of School Education, Andhra Pradesh to ensure that persons recruited as teachers possess the essential aptitude and ability to meet the challenges of teaching at Elementary, Secondary and Senior Secondary levels from classes I to VIII in the schools of the State Government, Mandal Parishad, Zilla Parishad, Municipality, Private Aided Schools and Private unaided schools in Andhra Pradesh.

As an essential criterion, the APTET has to be attended by each person who envisages a dream career in teaching in Elementary, Secondary or Senior Secondary Levels in any school in Andhra Pradesh. The APTET do not confer a job, but it is an essential criterion to adopt a teaching job as per the recommendations of NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education). The APTET will be conducted by the Board of School Education, Andhra Pradesh under the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Name of the examination:

  • Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test TET – January 2018

There will be Two Papers for the TET Paper-I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes I to V, Paper-II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Classes VI to VIII. A person who intends to be a Teacher either for Classes I to V or for Classes VI to VIII shall have to appear in both Papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Pass Percentage in APTET will be as follows: Other Caste (General): 60% marks and above, Backward Class: 50% marks and above, SC/ST/PWD: 40% marks and above. This selection will be done strictly on a Merit Listing. The validity of Certificates shall be for a period of 7 years from the date of TET.

A 20% Weightage to TET scores shall be provided in the Teacher Recruitment of the State Government, balance 80% weightage will be for Written Test in Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) based on which selection lists shall be prepared.

Date of Examination: 17-Jan-2018 to 27-Jan-2018 From 9.30 AM to 12.00 Noon (Session-1)
From 2.30 PM to 05.00 PM (Session-2)

Declaration of Results: 08-February-2018

Minimum Educational Qualification AP TET 2017:

  • For becoming Primary Teacher (for Classes I-V): Intermediate/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks. However in case of SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%. AND pass in 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)/ 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
    OR
    Intermediate/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks. In respect of SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%. AND pass in 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education.(B.El.Ed.)/ 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case of the candidates, who have passed or admitted to D.El.Ed/ D.Ed., course prior to issue of these guidelines.
  • For becoming Trained Graduate Teacher Upper Primary level (for Classes VI-VIII): B.A./B.Sc./B.Com., with at least 50% marks. In case of SC/ST/BC/Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%. AND pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course/ Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education).
    OR
    B.A./B.Sc./B.Com., with at least 50% marks. In respect of SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 40%. AND pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course/ Bachelor of Education (B.Ed -Special Education) in case of the candidates, who have passed or admitted to B.Ed., course prior to issue of these guidelines.
    OR
    4 year B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed., with at least 50% marks, in case of SC/ ST/ BC/ Differently Abled candidates, the minimum marks shall be 45%.
    OR
    Graduation with Language concerned as one of the Optional Subjects (OR) Bachelor of Oriental Language (or its equivalent) (OR) Graduation in Literature (OR) Post Graduation in Language concerned AND Language Pandit Training Certificate/ B.Ed with Language concerned as one of the Methodologies, in respect of Language Teachers.

How to Apply: The candidates may apply through online mode only in English at the website of the APTET at aptet.cgg.gov.in, aptet.apcfss.in

The applicants are advised read through the instructions and guidelines before submission of online Application form. The candidates are advised to fill in the application with caution as there will be no chance of altering the data once the application form is submitted. The candidates are advised to deposit requisite fees as stated on the complete advertisement before submission of application. After the payment of fees, the final step of the registration can be carried out. The candidates should save hardcopies of the application for future reference.
